Cally Woods is a local favourite — and it starts right from the edge of town. It’s a lovely, gentle walk through peaceful woodland, perfect for all abilities (pram-friendly and paw-friendly alike!).

  • Lots of off-lead space to let your dog roam safely

  • Ideal on warmer days as it’s well shaded

  • Free parking by the Cally Palace Hotel, or walk straight from your lodge


2. Cardoness Shoreline & Sandgreen – Splash-Friendly Coastal Fun

This is a brilliant choice if your dog loves the sea! Head out to the coast and enjoy open sands, sea air, and plenty of paddling opportunities.

  • Lovely flat beach walks with stunning Solway Firth views

  • Watch tide times — low tide gives you more space to explore

  • Great for a picnic stop or a quick paddle for both humans and dogs


3. Big Water of Fleet Viaduct – A Mix of History & Nature

A bit more adventurous, this walk rewards you with spectacular scenery, forest trails, and the historic railway viaduct.
