Our Story

About Us

We didn’t get here overnight — these lodges have been a real labour of love. I grew up on the family farm here in Gatehouse of Fleet and have always loved the view from the top of the hill. When the idea of building luxury lodges came along, I knew this was where they belonged.

Our lodges sit on my brother Robert’s land — he’s the fourth generation to farm here — and my dad is still very much involved. We’ve been lucky to work with brilliant local tradesmen and women who’ve helped turn our ideas into reality, all right here in Dumfries & Galloway.

Lottie, an occupational therapist with over 20 years’ experience, has played a huge part in shaping the design so that everyone can enjoy staying here. Some of our lodges are dog-friendly, some aren’t, but all are designed to feel easy, comfortable, and relaxing.

From the start, I wanted to create the kind of place I’d love to stay myself — somewhere you walk into and think, “this is great.” If it’s good enough for our family, it should be perfect for yours too.

Bringing the Vision to Life

Our lodges didn’t always look this polished! They began as sketches, hard hats, and long days on-site — a mix of local craftsmanship, teamwork, and plenty of tea breaks.

We’re proud that every lodge has been hand-built right here, not brought in on a lorry. Each one’s finished to a high standard with underfloor heating, Sonos, and smart TVs — everything you need for a relaxing stay.

Every nail, beam, and tile has a story behind it, and that’s what makes these lodges feel so special.

Farming the Land

The lodges are part of our working family farm, run by my brother Robert — the fourth generation to look after this land. My dad’s still involved too, and it’s safe to say none of this would have happened without them.

Throughout the year the farm is always alive — lambing in spring, silage in summer, harvest in autumn. Many of our guests love watching life unfold in the fields, spotting tractors or sheep from their decking.

If you’d like to see more of what goes on behind the scenes, take a look at Littleton Farm. It gives a lovely glimpse into everyday life here.

The View We Fell in Love With

Growing up on this hillside, I could sit for hours watching the clouds roll around the hills and the light dance over the Solway. It’s the kind of view that makes you stop, breathe, and just take it all in — and it’s the reason we built our lodges right here.

Our guests often tell us they do the same — morning coffee on the decking, a glass of wine as the sun sets, just watching the world slow down.

If you’re looking for somewhere peaceful, with views that stay with you long after you’ve left, this is it.

Embrace the enchantment of dusk from the vantage point of our lodge, where the sun paints the sky in hues of warmth and wonder, casting a mesmerizing glow over the landscape as day gracefully transitions into night.
